Need help with configuring .htaccess

Greetings...
I've installed all properly and database is also fine.
I just habe the folders -> /var/www/html
in html is all stuff from neofrag.
when i visit my domain i get "The requested URL /de was not found on this server."
Maybe someone can help me fix this problem... and tech me by the wayy how .htaccess works :D
